Came across the last part of this movie on Star Movies (the Chinese one) today. Man, it was so cool. I've never really been a fan of horror movies but the last part of this show wasn't that bad, at least not in broad daylight. This is the third and final (as implied from the title) movie for the Chakushin Ari (Japanese title for the movie) series. There are other versions of this show too but I really liked the last scene (: The part where they make you think it is all over and then it is actually the guy who is going to die...
I only watched like the last 20minutes of the movie so yeah, I only roughly know what is going on. From my understanding, for the this movie (not the series) is that this girl, whatever her name was (she was played by Maki Horikita from the Japanese version of Hana Kimi!), was very fed up with her schoolmates bullying her and her best friend, Emily, not standing up for her when she was bullied. So she tried to hang herself and somehow went into a coma and got connected to this little ghost girl (why must they all be children???) who was picking out people from her school's year book and sending them death sms with this freaky tinkly ring tone which if they do not pass on, they die. So like this other girl, Emily or something, and her friend who is this deaf boy, is trying to stop all that because there were a couple of mysterious deaths going around. In the scene which I watched, the boy suggested freezing the account/ Internet or whatever, so that no more mails can be sent out. So they were sending messages out and asking people to like spam the account. In the end they sorta managed and the computer just went berserk and exploded (sort of), but not before Emily swallowed this read stone-like object that was supposed to kill her (she kinda asked the ghost girl to keep her promise that she would be the last one to die). In the end, both friends woke up and found that they had been unconscious and all. Then Emily thanked the boy and they said goodbye and the boy walked out of the area with a revolving glass door. After he walked a couple of steps, Emily reached into her pocket, finding that her phone is not there, I think she realised then that the boy had it so she went after him but the revolving doors suddenly jammed and she was stuck inside. Then comes the explanation...blah blah blah... And then police cars were rolling in and the boy's body suddenly jerked and his hands went up to his throat and then blood gurgled out from his mouth and then he died (that was a great scene btw, at least I think so. Good acting). After that, they showed the same red stone rolling on the ground. Then they shifted to this scene where the two friends were at the beach, Emily in a wheel chair, possibly suffering from shock.
Great movie, but I don't think I'll watch it from the beginning cos that might just freak me out. Actually, I personally find horror movies very interesting and I really want to watch them (like Painted Skin) but I can't seem to work up the guts to. It's not the watching that is scary actually, it's after the movie, when I have all the time to think about it and let it completely fill my mind and drive me to the brink of insanity. You should all watch Ghost Ship (I think that's the title of the film). I watched the first part of it and I had to force myself to turn away from the screen because I knew I would regret it if I watched too much. The pull of curiosity was just too great. Thankfully, someone pulled the disc from the player and we all watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Willy Wonka, Willy Wonka, the amazing chocolatier, Willy Wonka, Willy Wonka, everybody give a cheer!).
