Perth, Australia
Posting this from Perth, Australia! Um, this keyboard is rather small so it's kinda hard to type. Just reached here this morning, which is at 7:05am on the 9th of November. This is the i-don't-even-know-what time I've been here, once again, to visit my parent's friends who migrated here about 17 to 18 years ago. It is quite cooling here because of the wind but the Sun is scorching. The weather here is nothing like that of Singapore's. It is now summer here in Australia, or coming to anyway. This weather is just perfect, not too hot but not too cold either. They've pushed the time one hour ahead of our's during summer for the last two summers (which includes this one) or else, the timing there and back home should be the same. I barely slept on the midnight flight (that's 'cos the other flights were fully booked) here as I was busy watching the shows on board the flight like Hairspray, High School Musical 2, No Reservations et cetera. The breakfast served at 4 am (or so) wasn't exactly very good I'd say. However I did enjoy the veggie roll thingy. Yummy! Gosh I just love being on a plane. Now I'm here, in Aus! So far, it's been rather relaxing. Met the little baby boy and he was really adorable. He just hugs everyone, well almost, hey it's not my fault he doesn't like me! I have quite a lot of time on my hands now, perhaps I'll make a card. I'm really rather nervous about meeting Stephanie since I haven't seen her in almost 4 years. Hopefully, we still enjoy being in each other's company. Who knows, things change and people change. I just hope for the best.

Halloween Blues
Two days ago (31st October), was Halloween. Once again, it has passed without much celebration in our country. Maybe some did celebrate, but it was not a great part of our country's culture. I have never tried treat-tricking and most probably am too old for it anyway. Here, in this part of the world, you do not see people dressing up as out-of-this-world figurines nor children going from door to door asking for candy. Last time this happened, it was on the News. Yeah, believe it or not. Halloween might not be something we celebrate but we still acknowledge this festival. It would be great however, to properly celebrate this one year. It will be a new experience to many around here in Asia and for people who do not have the opportunity to go overseas, they can still learn to appreciate such unique festivals that go on in other countries and also get to feel the atmosphere. It would be like going overseas at home. I personally, would like to have a chance to participate in such an event. I have heard so much about it and would really hope to joy in the fun. Perhaps someday, this day would come.

Net Carn '07
We didn't win Net carn, not a thing because we were disqualified from all events other than the actual game itself. Pity, we left the banner in the squash courts and the damn paint started to rot. And poof, we were disqualified. Yay and everyone's happy. Yeah right. There was not even a prize for best played game (alone), only overall champion and all other events we were disqualified from. What a shame. They were determined to make us lose. They must have saw this coming and hence disqualified us from everything else. We only had a chance if we were sensational which apparently we were not. A couple of wins, a few loses, and a number of ties. No way we can be overall champions. 1-11 totally trashed us in the final match, even with a four point penalty. This is so unfair! Like, okay! We were wrong! Do you really have to do this?! Sigh, what's over is over, there's no use brooding over it I should get over it and live, but not before leaving my foot print behind on their sparkling clean shirts. Humph. Well, I should respect the comment I made in JY's blog. It's not about the prize, it's about the journey. I think we did put in the effort, played great games and gone beyond my personal expectations of the class. We might not have won, but the journey was fruitful and engaging. We reaped more than any other class from this unfortunate incident and we shall learn from this day on to be more careful and of course, never leave your class banner lying around, in case it rots and the smell wafts to some unfortunate soul out there.

You know what, I think I shan't write titles any more. Three reasons : no. 1 They seek too much attention and are some what distracting. No. 2 I can't think of an appropriate title hence misleading the reader. No. 3 It takes up too much space. Ok, whatever. This nonsensical babbling is utterly irrelevant. I just read Jia Ying's blog and the first line of her latest post is 'OMGOMGOMG i just finished the Devil's Advocate on Youtube'. I haven't watched that show/movie yet so I am in no position to comment. However, there's this anime that I just started watching a few days ago that was introduced to me during the Wei Qi merit CCA activity (Thank you so much!). It is called Hikaru no Go and can also be found on youtube. Gosh it rawks! Go Fujiwara no Sai! Someday, I'll learn to draw him but first, I shall learn the basic rules of Go/Wei Qi/Baduk. This game, according to this other Go tutorial found on youtube, is about balance and judgement. Balance because both players get the same number of stones, so one must spread one's stones out to enclose the greatest amount of territory but not let them get so far apart that they are separated and can't come together to form living groups. It's a skillful balance and efficient play that would win the game. Judgement is something like judging if the place at which you place the stone would be to your advantage or something like that, not calculation (although this is sometimes used). I'm not pro at Go or anything and I have still got a lot to learn so I might have made some mistakes above, but whatever it is, I will learn and hopefully someday I'll succeed!

Views on 102's Drama Night performance - bimbo cheer
I do not think that the Bimbo cheer actually crashed the entire show as it was a little bit of fun in the rather serious performance. In some way, it also shows how the GIRL wears another face in front of her friends, thus being related to the theme. However, I think the extras were a little unnecessary (referring to "LUKE!<3: no, Alicia, that's where you're wrong. the bim cheer with only the 3 of you was ok., it iddn't spoil anything. but with extras? whoohoo. off it goes!" tag on the 27th of October). When it was just the three of them, it just seemed like this clique-ish cheer that was really cute but when the others were included, it became more of a cheer-leading routine. Imagine what it would have become if the dance to the cheer was actually included. It was also pretty unclear where the extras came from and their significance in the play (which may be why we were marked down). Hence my point (which may be unclear as i am not much of a writer), it is not the bimbo cheer that crashed the show, it is the way in which we did the cheer.
